CHAPTER 7

She woke up still snuggled in his strong arms. Being curled up with him seemed so normal and comfortable, she could not remember the last time she felt that way. Plus it was nice having someone to talk to.

It was almost midnight, and she needed to take her shot. Sam was already asleep. Quietly sliding out of his arms, she searched for something to wear. Grabbing her bikini bottoms, she quickly got dressed. Shit she silently cursed as he stirred.

"Ah-hem." He cleared his throat, startling her.

"What the hell?" She jumped, nearly falling over. "I thought you were still asleep."

"Obviously. And where do you think you're going? Was I just an easy lay and now you're leaving?" he asked, smiling widely as he lay in bed. His hair fell over his eyes as he propped his arm up behind his head.

Trina stood there in only bikini bottoms. Her mouth watered at the sight of his rippling muscles and hard body since the sheet lay down around his hips. "No, don't be silly." She waved him off. "I actually," How am I supposed to explain this? "I need to run over to my place and get my medicine. I can't miss a dose. I was just looking for a shirt to throw on real quick." She turned back to her bag. "It kind of slipped my mind, and I—"

"Check in the second drawer on the left. There should be a t-shirt in there." He sat up in bed, the sheet hanging low on his hips.

"Thanks, I will be right back, I swear." Sliding on the t-shirt she hurried out of his room.

Trina unlocked her door and ran inside to the kitchen. Shit shit shit! She silently cursed to herself. How could she forget she needed her injection? She had been so diligent about taking it since her relapse. She knew better than this. She grabbed her syringe out of the refrigerator.

Seriously? Dammit! She cursed realizing she forgot that it needed to sit for twenty minutes to get to room temperature before she injected it. How could she forget that? This guy really had her rattled.

Walking back to the door with the syringe in her hand, she was not surprised to see Sam leaning against the doorframe, barefoot, in only a pair of shorts. Oh yum, she thought. His smile was wide as he watched her. Folding his arms across his chest, he waited patiently for her.

"Boo," he said, smiling seductively.

"You didn't trust me to come back?" she said as she giggled. "After all, you do still have my dog." She was shocked Toby didn't wake up and follow her. He was such a mama's boy. She normally wasn't able to leave a room without him.

"Nah, I thought I'd come keep you company. Everything okay? Did you get what you needed?"

He looked so damn sexy leaning in the doorway. Trina walked up to him, kissing his arm and then his shoulder. "I'm fine. I did get what I needed. Kind of," she said and smiled at him.
